Giorgos Kevrekidis
Born in Chalkida, Greece, in 1973, with origins from Asia Minor and the Black Sea. Graduated from the Civil Engineering School of the National Technical University of Athens, in the field of Structural Design. He also holds a Master’s degree (2002) from the Department of Steel Structures of the same University. In 2016, he graduated from the Department of Visual and Applied Arts, University of Western Macedonia, in 2016.
In 2016, he also completed his Diploma Project in the Department of Painting, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Istanbul, Turkey.
He has presented five solo exhibitions:
When the sea is calmer…I will swim again, Multiple Faces of Istanbul, Insan “yukari bakan”, Intuitions, and Memories of a Refugee. His work has also been shown in festivals, public spaces, and group exhibitions. He participated in the 1st Larnaca Biennale (Cyprus, October 2018) as member of the re-neighbors artistic couple, and he was among the first prize finalist. Works of his belong to private and public collections. He is also engaged in creative writing.
